Our Program
Arts Education for Hardin County Youth
Youth Theatre of Hardin County is a non-profit organization providing arts education, recreation, and a cultural outlet for our youth. We are the longest running youth theater program in Kentucky.
Membership is open to Hardin County youth in the sixth grade through the twelfth, as of the date of their audition (historically audtions are held in April). A $100.00 yearly membership fee covers educational workshops in January, February, and March on acting, dancing, music, makeup, and character creation, and auditions. Members who are cast in the summer production are also responsible for a minimum amount of sponsorships.
Youth Theatre of Hardin County also hosts parties and entertainment for members and their parents to get to know each other and have social time together.
Business sponsorships are welcome, and provide the necessary financial support for Youth Theatre of Hardin County’s program.
Youth Theatre of Hardin County was recognized by the Honorable Ron Lewis, United States Representative from Hardin County who entered into the Congressional Record the following: “as the oldest educating and performing community youth theater program in the commonwealth of Kentucky, it has been an integral part in promoting and advancing theater among Kentucky’s youth for over a quarter of a century.”
